This anthology issue contains three stories with religious and moral themes for young readers. "What Counts" by Jewell Ready depicts Jane learning to overcome jealousy of her prettier cousin Sherrie during a visit to her grandparents' new home in Mississippi, ultimately embracing kindness and acceptance. "Pennants for the Motorboat" by Zella M. Lindsay follows siblings Roger and Sue as they grapple with responsibility and fairness when their cousin Eddie damages a borrowed beach ball, deciding to ask God's help in buying their father a new boat pennant and replacing Eddie's damaged property. The final story depicts a young boy named Gary who experiences divine healing through prayer at a religious gathering, losing the need for his crutches and built-up shoe after worshippers pray for him, with his doctor confirming the miraculous recovery.
