When the drums summon Sheena to Chief G'Han's village as a judge of the witch doctor Taku's magic, she and Bob Reynolds set out by dugout—only to be ambushed by a crocodile and forced to camp in the jungle overnight. As they approach the village the next morning, Taku springs a trap of killer cats, but Sheena cuts through his scheme and arrives to witness his apparent supernatural power: he resurrects a woman called the "Half-Dead" from a hidden coffin, then seemingly murders and revives her again, convincing the chief his magic is real. Suspecting a darker purpose behind the taboo well where Taku performs his tricks, Sheena dives to investigate while Bob keeps watch—but when Taku's men discover them at the pool, Bob must stall for time as Sheena searches the murky depths for the truth.
