# John Wayne Adventure Comics #24 A crashed airliner in the California desert sets the stage for John Wayne's survival adventure, where he must outwit a criminal named Dubrow who has also survived the crash. As Wayne and fellow survivor Mrs. Bartlett use sun signals to attract rescue planes dropping supplies, Dubrow plots an expedition into the Amazon jungle, attempting to force Wayne to help him retrieve a lost city by posing as the supposedly deceased Migli and using forged maps. When Wayne sees through the deception and discovers that Migli was actually Joe Fendrick, an old broken-down make-up artist, he must contend with mummies rising from an ancient tomb and a frenzied girl named Ruth before ultimately exposing Fendrick's scheme and saving the day.
