Jim Bowie #19 (1957)

This issue contains two stories featuring Jim Bowie. In "Mine of Misery," Bowie is chained by Don Manuelo to work in a Mexican silver mine, but he breaks free and confronts his captor. In "Contessa's Prisoner," set during the Texas fight for independence from Mexico, Bowie volunteers for a dangerous scouting mission under Sam Houston's command, where he encounters Mexican forces and becomes entangled with a Mexican captain and his warriors in a confrontation over a message.
