Jim Bowie #17 (1956)

Jim Bowie encounters Kelman's gang terrorizing a town and attempts to stop them, but the outlaws escape. Learning that Kelman's men plan to raid the trail with stolen cattle and horses, Jim sets out to intercept them. After a confrontation where Jim defeats the raiders, he encounters Jeff Jones, a peddler from Cedarboro, who gives him a knife as a gift. Jeff is actually working with the gang and attempts to kill Jim with the knife, but Jim survives and pursues Jeff, eventually capturing him and becoming recognized as the famous frontiersman Tom Bowie.
