Girls' Crystal #978 is an anthology issue containing three stories. "Daphne of Galleon Cove Camp" follows Daphne Ronson, a girl who has lost her memory and is befriended by schoolgirl campers Bunty Rayner and Pat Simms; they discover a mysterious book about Galleon Cove that triggers Daphne's memory and helps solve the mystery of her past. "Gaye the Autograph-Hunter" by Janet McKibbin depicts a young singer named Gaye Briscoe who is mistaken for a promising talent by Lady Truemore and becomes entangled in a mix-up involving an autograph and a £500 cheque. The issue also features "The Schoolgirl" story (partially visible), a standalone tale about schoolgirls' misadventures, and "Karen and the Boy Prince," in which a young dressmaker named Karen Linzel helps Prince Stefan of Kalonia catch an impostor and becomes involved in a dangerous military scheme.
