Girls' Crystal #960 is an anthology issue featuring three main stories. "Friends of the Gipsy Skater" follows Carol Fenton and Denia Gray, who discover their Swiss friend Mitzi is actually the daughter of a famous English skier and become entangled in efforts to prove Mitzi's identity and protect her father's inheritance. "Hetty & Hal in Holland" by Elise Probyn recounts the comic misadventures of Hetty and Hal, who smuggle a dog into a Dutch restaurant and face escalating complications as they attempt to hide the animal during their meal. A third untitled serial story (visible on page 12) follows characters named Gwynne, Sybil, and others as they discover a mysterious message warning them away from an island, with implications of danger and a watchman on the lookout for trespassers.
