When Hap Hazard's friend introduces him to Blossom, a forceful new girl in the neighborhood, he suddenly finds himself drafted as her boyfriend—whether he likes it or not. Desperate to escape her clutches so he can take Judy to the school dance instead, Hap hatches a series of schemes that spectacularly backfire, each one only making Blossom more determined to keep him by her side. By the time the evening arrives, Hap discovers that even his best-laid plans can't protect him from a girl who always gets what she wants.
