Film Fun #1544 is an anthology issue featuring four comedy stories based on classic film stars and characters. "Laurel & Hardy: Heading for Trouble" depicts Stan and Olly's misadventures when they attempt to kick Chief Constable Corne-Plaster but instead encounter various mishaps involving the Mayor and other local officials. "Frank Randle: Famous Star of Mancunian Films" follows con artist Sam Slick as he attempts to sell wrinkle-remover formulas to unsuspecting customers, leading to chaos when the formulas prove ineffective or cause unexpected results. "Abbott & Costello: Stars of Universal Pictures" shows Baron Bignoise and Lou preparing an elaborate feast that goes comically awry when unexpected guests arrive and the food preparations create pandemonium. "Joe E. Brown: The Famous Fellow of the Films" features Joe attempting to study a script peacefully while various characters, including Willie B. and his family, create constant noise and disruption around him.
