In the wilderness of Kentucky, Daniel Boone sets out with his companion Sam Estry to scout for signs of hostile Indians, agreeing to meet at Black Lick by noon. When Sam vanishes after dozing off, Boone follows a trail of clues—including a lost cap and deep moccasin prints—leading straight to Dark Owl’s village, where he must outwit the hidden enemy to rescue his friend before dawn.
Daniel Boone and Sam Eusty are thrown into chaos when a group of deluded Pennsylvania settlers, duped by a crooked land agent, arrive in Boonesborough just as a Shawnee war party threatens the frontier outpost.
