The Sea Bees Sting the Japs!
12 pp · war

Don Winslow teams up with the Navy's construction battalions—the Sea Bees—to establish a forward base on Saenae Island and finally crack the toughest Japanese stronghold in the Pacific. When the invasion force hits the beach, they must fight off enemy counterattacks while simultaneously building an airfield under fire, racing against time before dawn makes their supply ships sitting ducks for Japanese bombers. It's a race between hammer and gun as the Sea Bees prove they're as tough in combat as they are behind heavy equipment.

Delayed Death
10 pp · war

Don and Red's patrol plane is shot down over the mysterious Sargasso Sea, forcing them to crash-land among a graveyard of abandoned ships—where they stumble onto a sinister Nazi plot to attack the Panama Canal using disguised Q-boats. Racing against time and the clutching seaweed, Don hatches a desperate plan to use relics from a Revolutionary War vessel to sabotage the enemy fleet before it sets sail.

He's Knot So Nuts!
2 pp · humor; children

Eaglebeak Spruder demonstrates how sea-scouts tie knots blindfolded as a practical skill for capturing enemies in the dark, but his tall tale about punishing himself for peeking during practice leads to some hilariously over-the-top consequences. When a skeptical onlooker challenges his methods, Eaglebeak's elaborate explanation of why he must work blind turns into a comedy of errors that keeps everyone guessing whether he's genuinely skilled or just full of hot air.

Marines to the Front!
12 pp · war

Don Winslow takes special leave from the Navy to investigate Japanese infiltration on Australia's north shore, where a unit of Marines has lost five scouts to an enemy ambush—but the cocky invaders' taunting note reveals their real game: a deadly trap designed to draw the Americans into the open. With Sergeant Jim Otis and his pet kangaroo Hoppy in tow, Don sets out by sea to spring the trap before his men walk straight into it, only to find himself captured and learning the horrifying truth about the enemy's full invasion plans. Now locked away and unable to warn Red Pennington's attack force, Don must find a way to escape and expose the Japanese strategy before it's too late.
