Daredevil Comics #27 (1948)

Daredevil confronts a gang of criminals who have kidnapped a woman's husband after he discovered the location of twenty million dollars in hidden jewels on the S.S. Gladstonia; the crooks plan to force him to reveal the treasure's location. After Daredevil rescues the husband and thwarts the kidnappers, he pursues the gang's leader through a supernatural encounter involving water injected with a deadly toxin and battles with grotesque yellow creatures. Daredevil successfully stops the fiends and prevents them from destroying the city's bridges, ultimately saving the day and earning the gratitude of the rescued family and local officials.
