Jo, a shy and self-doubting teen, sets out to prove his worth by transforming his personality after his father dismisses him as lacking character. Using a self-help book, he tries to project a commanding presence—first on his friend Jitterbuck, then at the carnival, where he attempts to influence everyone around him with bold new confidence.
