This anthology issue contains four stories: "Shorty the Deputy," in which Sheriff Shorty uncovers a gold theft plot involving bandits and a covered wagon; "Billy Bunter: The Football Star," where the schoolboy outwits rivals in a football match and aids a fellow student; "Buck Jones: The Mystery of Biddy Logan," featuring Buck Jones rescuing Biddy Logan from Jose Gonzalez's stronghold with the aid of a patrol of civil guards; and "Don Deeds," in which Don Deeds and his companions attempt to escape from a wrecked treasure-ship and encounter the Emperor of Kiang-Chi. The issue also includes a Picture Quiz section, a "Scoop the Comet Reporter" feature, and a "Sammy Shuteye" comic strip titled "Finds Spring in the Air."
