# Comet #89 (New Series, February 11, 1950) An anthology of comic stories featuring multiple characters. "Shorty the Deputy Sheriff" follows the small lawman as he pursues bandits and uses cunning to apprehend them. "Scamp" depicts a mischievous dog creating chaos in a household and with a cat. "Billy Bunter—The Football Star" continues from page 2, chronicling the schoolboy's exploits with bicycles and his friends. Additional stories include "Tommy Hawk and Moe Cassin," "Buck Jones," "Scoop—The Comet Reporter," "Simon—The Simple Sleuth," and "Don Deeds," in which a man retrieving a sunken treasure ship encounters sharks and other underwater perils. The issue also features a "Gallery of Stars" with film celebrities and "Sammy Shuteye Wins a Medal and Bar," a humorous strip about an airman.
