This anthology issue contains three stories: "Shorty the Deputy Sheriff," in which the diminutive lawman pursues bank robbers who have hidden their loot in a river, ultimately recovering the stolen money after a comedic chase; "What Strange Secret Does the Little Carved Figure Hide?," a mystery involving The Professor and pupils including Slim, Miss Lotus Chen, and others who journey by train to recover a treasure connected to a mysterious carved figure and letters from Wan Chen; and "Mick the Moon Boy Doesn't Have to Ask Who Robbed Ben Hogan," wherein Mick investigates a robbery at Ben's cabin and discovers gold dust hidden by the old-timer, with the story concluding with references to further adventure on Tomahawk Island involving encounters with Native Americans and palefaces.
