When Candy and her friends spot a trendy new hairstyle in a magazine, they're determined to get it—until Pierre's salon charges a whopping fifteen dollars per head. The girls decide to give themselves permanent waves at home with a bargain kit, but the DIY disaster leaves them hiding in shame and scrambling to earn money to fix the damage. When Ted Dawson, editor-in-chief of the Hartwick High newspaper, desperately needs glamour shots for the front page, he finds himself caught between two feuding girls—Candy O'Connor and Cornelia Clyde—each demanding to be featured. As Ted and his photo editor Orville scramble to photograph both girls in increasingly comedic circumstances, mishaps pile up faster than deadlines, and the competition for the coveted cover spot spirals into chaos. What starts as a simple photo shoot becomes a battle of wits, egos, and pure comic mayhem that threatens to sabotage the entire edition.
