"Butterfly" #511 is an anthology issue featuring multiple stories and comic strips. "Smiler and Smudge, the Comical Couple" depicts the antics of two bumbling characters attempting to perform circus acts with magical props and assistance from Ping and Pong. "Galloping Gloria and Wildflame, her Wonder Horse" follows a girl rancher's daring rescue of a fellow rancher's daughter from bandits in the Far Pacific region. Additional features include "Pip and Hoo Ray: The Chinese Twins," "Molly Polly," "Ginger, the Tricky Little Turk," and "Steve Stitch: the All-round Sportsman," along with "The Ghost Ship," a mystery tale set in the South Seas involving Dick and Jim Vernon's discovery of the pirate ship Good Hope and their attempts to solve its secrets.
