Big Chief Wahoo #5 (1945)
Free to read · restored edition by comicbooks.com · Issue details →
Chief Wahoo attempts to organize a radio broadcast featuring his Indian band, but complications arise when a sponsor insists the program won't be dignified unless Wahoo performs in proper Native American attire. When Wahoo dresses in traditional Indian garments to appease the sponsor, he encounters a man named Tuggles who mistakes him for a real Native American and attempts to transform him into an "injun" by dressing him in increasingly absurd tribal clothing. The story culminates in slapstick comedy as Wahoo and Tuggles engage in a chaotic series of misunderstandings, with Tuggles tickling Wahoo while he wears a feather skirt and other ridiculous outfits, all while various onlookers react to the mayhem.
