America's Best Comics #31 (1949)

This anthology issue contains two main stories: In the first story featuring Diana (a circus performer in red), she and her colleagues encounter masked assailants at a circus grounds; Diana helps Mr. Barrett escape the attackers, though the assailants initially get away before being pursued. In "Buck Ranger," Buck Ranger and his partner Chico investigate human coyotes who are bottling up the rangeland water supply to extort money from cattlemen, leading to a confrontation where Buck must deal with imposters and ultimately discovers the criminals' hideout. A third story features a prison break by Rocky McGann, a dangerous criminal, who is pursued across the rangeland while evading capture by law enforcement.
