“Wilderness Ranch”

"Wilderness Ranch" is a stirring Western tale from Zane Grey's Western Annual #1966, written by Gaylord Du Bois and illustrated by Albert Micale, whose detailed art brings the rugged landscape and emotional weight of the Huett family’s story to life. Centered on Logan and Lucinda Huett, the narrative unfolds across generations, tracing their struggles with ranch life, family loyalty, and the devastating ripple effects of war—especially when Abe returns from the front with a shocking revelation about their lost herd. The cover by Albert Micale captures the quiet tension of a frontier world where pride, loss, and resilience are etched into every line.
