“Tender Is Love”

In "Tender Is Love," Cindy grapples with heartbreak when she catches Philip kissing another girl, leaving her questioning her worth. With support from her longtime friend Dick, who gently warns her about Philip’s past, Cindy begins to wonder if her struggles stem not from love, but from how she looks—especially compared to the more polished girl who stole her boyfriend’s attention. The emotional weight of the moment is drawn with quiet precision by Eduardo Feito, whose art captures every subtle shift in Cindy’s expression. The cover, by Edmond Fernández Ripoll, echoes the story’s bittersweet mood with a tender, intimate portrait of the young couple in a moment of quiet tension.

Cindy had started dating Philip steadily and she was happy until she opened the door to a lecture room and found him kissing another girl. Dick, her childhood friend who was also in love with her, tried to console her and tell her that Phil had a reputation as a two-timing Romeo. But Cindy chose to believe the real problem was how sophisticated and elegant her rival was compared to her. If only she could buy pretty clothes and have her hair done, she was sure she could make Phil notice her again.
