As Kitty approaches her seventeenth-birthday, she resents being treated like a kid by the ranch foreman. When a boy from the city is injured in a car crash near her father's ranch, Kitty starts spending time with him and soon he asks her to marry him. But when he takes her to the city, she realizes she doesn't belong there and returns home.
