Eve runs a garage for her invalid grandfather and regularly goes out with the boy who works there. But Eve yearns for more out of life. When she discovers a handsome stranger hiding in her garage one evening, he tells her he knows of plans for a revolution in Peru and his enemies are looking for him. Later, a beautiful stranger arrives in town and draws the attention of Eve's boyfriend. But when the strangers meet each other, it turns out she is an actress and he is a playwright using Eve to prove that the heroine of his latest play could actually exist.
