"A Matter of Tactics" tells the story of Relka, a young cave boy who uses intelligence and strategy to help his tribe, the Koosaki, defeat their more powerful neighboring rivals. When the Koosaki face overwhelming numbers in battle, Relka convinces the tribal chief Balik to adopt a new defensive strategy—sealing off cave entrances with boulder barricades instead of meeting the attackers in open combat. This tactical innovation proves devastatingly effective, breaking the enemy's strength and earning Relka admiration from the tribe's elders, who recognize that his young mind has contributed more to their victory than traditional warrior strength.
