X-Men / Spider-Man [X-Men and Spider-Man] #2
In "Last Hunts," Spider-Man uncovers a chilling link between Kraven’s past and the original X-Men, tracing genetic experiments tied to Mr. Sinister. When he shares the evidence with the current X-Men, they’re already deep in a crisis—facing a mutant massacre—prompting them to join forces and dive into the Morlock tunnels. There, after a clash with Sinister’s Marauders, they stumble upon a hidden lab filled with twisted, lifeless clones of the X-Men. Written by Christos Gage and illustrated by Mario Alberti, with cover art by Mario Alberti, this 2009 issue blends mystery and dread in a story that pulls Spider-Man into the X-Men’s darkest corners.

As Spider-Man digs through the files of the recently deceased Kraven, he finds information on an old adventure he had with the original X-Men where the villain took genetic samples of the mutants for Mr. Sinister. Spidey takes this information to the current team only to find that they are in the middle of dealing with a mutant massacre. When the X-Men hear Sinister's name, they ask Spider-Man to help them track him down and they head into the Morlock tunnels. After a battle with Sinister's agents, the Marauders, our heroes find an old lab with twisted, dead clones of the X-Men.
