With Madalyne trapped, Jena finds she must use all of her extensive combat training to battle the Shadow King and retrieve the Phoenix Sword. As the Destiny Sands run out and the Passing takes place, Jena is stabbed with the sword and manifests the Phoenix powers inside of herself allowing her to beat the Shadow King and become the new champion of her people.
