Hank McCoy is a brainiac in school and a marvel on the football field but finds himself in deep trouble when the slightly mad Conquistador kidnaps his parents and forces him to steal a prototype cold fusion reactor to secure their release. He pretends to steal the reactor and easily turns the tables on the delusional and rather stupid villain. Hank tells his parents that he thinks he is a mutant just as Professor Xavier shows up and invites him to join the X-Men. Charlie makes his request much more compulsive by wiping all memory of Hank out of the minds of everyone he ever knew.
