X-Men Collector's Edition #[2]
"Monsters Also Weep!" is a standout moment in the X-Men Collector's Edition #2 (1982, Marvel UK), a poignant tale written by Roy Thomas and brought to life with striking art by Neal Adams, with inks by Tom Palmer and lettering by Sam Rosen. The story follows the X-Men as they confront the enigmatic Sauron, only to see him vanish—unaware that the creature is tied to Dr. Karl Lykos, a man whose past and present collide in heartbreaking fashion. With cover art by Neal Adams and Tom Palmer, the issue captures both the emotional weight and the eerie mystery of a man torn between science, love, and the monstrous form he can’t escape.
