This collection presents the first volume of Charles Burns's surreal graphic novel trilogy, originally serialized in the comics anthology The Believer. It follows the fragmented, dreamlike narrative of a young man named Doug as he navigates a bizarre, post-apocalyptic landscape that blurs the line between reality and a drug-induced nightmare, rendered in Burns's signature stark black-and-white linework. The book includes the first three issues of the series, published in 2010 by Pantheon as part of their Graphic Library imprint.
