This issue contains two stories. "A Gun at His Back" follows Wyatt Earp as he sets a trap for a killer by arranging for a stolen saddle to be discovered, then waits in the dark for the culprit to retrieve it, only to discover it's a setup when the suspect attempts to shoot his way free. "Gunpowder Pay-Off" features a narrative account by Stephen Starwick about the introduction of a steam-powered stage coach to the frontier in 1879, detailing the challenges of transporting goods and passengers across the western territories and the eventual arrival of this revolutionary new transportation method to his town, with appearances by inventor Jim Roane and confrontations involving the famous gunslinger Chet Band and the Dunbar Brothers.
