The story centers on a legendary artifact known as the Pearl of Pandaria, which holds the key to ancient secrets and the land's hidden dangers. Written by Walter Simonson with art by Mike Bowden, the volume collects the four-issue miniseries published by DC Comics under its WildStorm imprint in 2012.

Li Li Stormstout sets out on an adventure to locate her Uncle, the famous Chen Stormstout. Along the way she is pursued by Strongbo (Bo) who has been tasked to return her home. Along the way a Goblin, Orc and Naga become convinced Li Li knows the whereabouts of the fabled Pearl of Pandaria and are determined to get Li Li to reveal its location.
