In feudal Japan, Lady Shiori's husband is killed and lands are taken by the usurper Tsunetomo. She has a dream about a mysterious blade that will aid her in her quest for justice. Shiori gathers companions in her journey for the blade and her allies are able to help her defeat the guardians that protect the Witchblade from interlopers. She returns home with her new weapon to take down Tsunetomo and restore peace to her lands.
