After being found, Willie is taken to see a doctor who diagnoses him with "the jitters" from his frightening ordeal. In a separate story titled "Whiskey the Bear in Coat Tale," Whiskey proudly shows off his new red coat to Billy, but after a narrow escape from a car accident involving a blue automobile, Billy accidentally ruins the coat, leading to Whiskey's anger. The doctor later prescribes Willie a picnic as a cure for his nerves.
Willie the Penguin is frustrated about a dollar Tommy borrowed and hasn't repaid, so he imagines all the ways he'd like to get revenge—only to have Tommy show up at his door ready to settle the debt. Sometimes the best payoff comes from simply waiting it out.
Willie the Penguin dreams of becoming a magician to show up his prankster friend Nasty Newton, but when he sneaks into a magicians' club and accidentally unleashes a collection of magical creatures and equipment on the city, he finds himself the target of both police and angry conjurers. After confessing his role in the chaos, Willie gets an unexpected second chance that might finally turn his fortune around.
When Whitey Bear's new coat gets ruined, he decides to mail away for a replacement—but a mix-up at the company turns his order for a "coat" into a delivery of a live goat instead. Before he can sort out the mess, the confused animal ends up crated and shipped to a department store, where it's mistaken for a bear rug and put on display, leaving Whitey scrambling to convince the bewildered staff (and potential customers) that he's very much alive and for sale.
Willie ventures into a notorious gangsters' hideout and finds himself in serious danger, leaving his friend back home increasingly worried as the hours pass with no sign of his return.
Willie the Penguin is suffering from a bad case of the jitters until his friend Millie drags him to Dr. I. Fixem, who prescribes the perfect remedy: a picnic outing with recreation and fun. What starts as a relaxing countryside escape with Millie and a group of kids quickly turns into one mishap after another, but Willie discovers the doctor's cure works in the most unexpected way.
