When an Indian spy named Ogana infiltrates the fort, Hawkeye is tasked with delivering supplies along the Iroquois Trail while Marion, the colonel's daughter, secretly joins him. As French forces attack the fort and fierce fighting erupts, Hawkeye and Marion are captured by Montcalm's troops. The story culminates when Ogana, revealed to be seeking revenge for his tribe's massacre by the English, must choose between aiding the French or helping Hawkeye and Marion escape—ultimately deciding to fight for his people's honor rather than for either colonial power.
Even the mighty Davy Crockett can't stay alert forever on the Kentucky frontier, and he learns this lesson when a young Native American brave catches him napping with mischief in mind. What starts as a tense confrontation becomes an unexpected friendship when Davy offers the boy a practical solution to his scalp-hunting ambitions, leading to a memorable encounter neither will soon forget.
In 1775, Hawkeye returns home to his mother's cabin along the Iroquois Trail with his tribal brother Sagamore, only to discover that his younger brother Tom has been ambushed and left for dead by traitors posing as British soldiers—an act that sets Hawkeye on a burning quest for revenge. As war erupts along the frontier between French Montreal and British Albany, Hawkeye must navigate the dangerous trail while grappling with enemies both known and hidden, all while the beautiful Marion Thorne arrives in the region with her own secrets to keep.
Davy Crockett spends a day observing the wildlife of the frontier woods, encountering raccoons, deer, snakes, porcupines, and other creatures as he moves quietly through their domain. Through his eyes, we see how the animals—curious yet wary of this newcomer—have learned to coexist with the hunter in their midst, each with its own habits and quirks. As evening falls and his campfire glows, Crockett finds unexpected companionship in the silent watch of his forest neighbors.
Davy Crockett stumbles upon a lost bear cub in the wilderness and, despite knowing the dangers of a protective mother bear, decides to help the hungry young creature by sharing his food. What begins as an act of frontier kindness quickly turns into a tense encounter when the cub's mother arrives on the scene, forcing Davy to make a hasty retreat from the clearing.
