As the pestilence spreads rapidly through Tauruti Kraal and beyond, Taanda races to trace the disease's source to a mysterious trading ship, joining forces with Captain Stevens to warn neighboring communities and hunt down the vessel before the plague consumes the entire region. Her investigation becomes a desperate quest against time and terror as she pursues the infected ship along the African coast.

In "The Ant Invasion!", Taanda and the Tauruti face a terrifying swarm of red army ants descending on their village. With the help of Koru, Taanda uncovers a sinister plot when they realize the ants were lured by scented oils from the Maoro, leading to a fierce battle and a decisive strike against the traitors.
