# Western Rough Riders #2 The issue contains a story about the "Silver Kid," a gunslinger who becomes obsessed with proving himself the fastest and best shot in the territory after hearing of another skilled gunfighter. After a series of deadly duels and killings, the Silver Kid travels to Crazy Mesa to confront his rival, where he defeats the other gunman in a final shootout but is wounded in the exchange. Overcome by remorse at taking a life and realizing his reputation now attracts only more violence, the Silver Kid abandons his guns and walks away. A secondary story depicts a father waiting for his son to return home, only to learn the young man is missing, while also discovering a debt is coming due on his land; the elderly father faces losing everything unless he can settle the financial obligation within two months.
