Western Hero #111

A Slim Carson adventure titled "Chain Gang Vengeance" involving a rug scheme and stolen silver. Slim and his companion Tony pursue Wylie and Mushrat through the countryside after begging has failed to stop them from ambushing a lawman; they track the criminals to a goat-herder's shack near San Ramon, where Slim discovers that a gang plans to smuggle stolen silver across the river into Mexico. After capturing and binding the gang members and obtaining crucial information about their crossing point, Slim prepares to round up the entire outfit and alert Sheriff Rance McRee to intercept them at the San Ramon ford.
