A farmer seeks help from a mysterious stranger after demons plague his hayloft, terrorizing his family and livestock. The stranger, revealed to be Tom Mix, sets a trap to catch the demons and pursues them relentlessly, eventually cornering them near a river with a barrel of magical liquid. Tom Mix manages to prevent the barrel from reaching the water, which would have caused it to sink and drown the demons' captive victim, defeating the supernatural threat and saving the farmer's family.

Tex Ritter, the Fighting Prairie Ranger, finds himself indebted to the Martinez family after they nurse him back to health following a brutal encounter with a mountain lion. When he learns that the ruthless Blackie Farrel is threatening to seize their ancestral hacienda—claiming there's no deed on record to prove the family's ownership—Tex decides to investigate the claim office himself. His search through the files uncovers a hidden strongbox and a mysterious document that may hold the key to saving the Martinez family's land.

Big Bow takes on a painting job, but Little Arrow insists on showing him a faster, messier method—one that spirals hilariously out of control when turpentine enters the picture.
