Warren Ellis Blackgas #2

Mar 2006 · Avatar Press · 3.99 USD

Warren Ellis’s *Blackgas* #2 (2006) delivers a pulse-pounding descent into primal chaos, where a mysterious black gas unleashed on Smoky Island has turned nearly everyone into violent, unhinged figures driven by their darkest impulses. With only two survivors outside the affected zone—one unaware his loved ones are now among the dead—and a desperate race to reach escape boats across a town overrun by the infected, the stakes are immediate and terrifying. Warren Ellis writes with his trademark precision, Max Fiumara’s interior art captures the dread, and Jacen Burrows’ cover perfectly encapsulates the creeping horror.

There were 500 people on Smoky Island. 498 of them have inhaled a black gas which came from the island. A natural psychoactive that releases every foul thing in the human spirit, rendering its victims little better than zombies. Two people were outside the area of release. One of them has family in town and he doesn't know that they just ran out of warm meat. The boats they need to escape are on the other side of town. Just a little under five hundred cannibal psychopaths are between them and safety. They don't know what's happened in Smoky Island, its history, or what's going to kill them.
