Warlord of Mars: Dejah Thoris #24

Apr 2013 · Dynamite Entertainment · 3.99 USD

In *Warlord of Mars: Dejah Thoris* #24, Dejah Thoris, Kantos, and Tash seek refuge in a cavern to escape giant rats and the deadly assassin Boll-Mar—only to stumble upon a tribe of cannibalistic white men. When Tash is captured and moments from a grim fate, Boll-Mar intervenes not out of mercy, but because his honor forbids the violation and consumption of a woman—even one he was hired to kill. As he frees Dejah and Kantos, Tash flees and leaps from a cliff rather than face capture. Written by Robert Napton and illustrated by Carlos Rafael, with colors by Carlos Lopez and letters by Marshall Dillon, the cover by Fabiano Neves captures the moment’s tension in striking detail.

Dejah and Kantos take Tash into an underground cavern to escape giant rat creatures and the assassin Boll-Mar. Instead of finding safety, however, they run smack into a race of primitive white men who also happen to be cannibals. Trussed up and about to receive some unwanted attention from one of her captors, Tash finds herself being rescued by Boll-Mar whose code of honor will not allow a woman to be violated and eaten--even a woman he has been contracted to kill. As Boll-Mar frees Dejah and Kantos, Tash runs off and leaps from a cliff to her death rather than face assassination.
