In January 1942, Commander Nolan's ship heads to Murmansk while the Luftwaffe holds air superiority, launching reconnaissance planes and Stukas that attack the vessel with screaming dives and rocket fire, forcing the crew to respond with anti-aircraft guns and evasive maneuvers. A second story, "Sealed Orders," follows the U.S. submarine Sailfish as it travels submerged under secret orders with a mysterious woman passenger aboard—considered bad luck by the superstitious crew, who know nothing of her identity or mission.
