Walt Disney Winnie-the-Pooh #4
In "The Flying Carpet," Tigger rallies the Hundred Acre Wood in a whimsical "'Round the Worl' Runathon" inspired by Christopher Columbus, challenging everyone to run straight ahead—through obstacles, not around them. With John Carey handling pencils, inks, and lettering, and Vic Lockman scripting the adventure, this 1977 Western Publishing gem delivers a playful, fast-paced race where the finish line might just surprise everyone. The cover by John Carey captures the spirit of the journey, full of motion and mischief.

Inspired by tales of Christopher Columbus, Tigger organizes a "'Round the Worl' Runathon" for which the participants must "...run straight ahead, all the way 'round the world [to where the starting line also] becomes the finish line". As the contestants are to run straight through obstacles, rather than avoid them, the Runathon quickly becomes a race of attrition with a most unexpected winner emerging in a most unexpected way.
