It features stories starring beloved characters like Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse, often including reprints of classic Carl Barks and Floyd Gottfredson material alongside newer content. As issue #653, it represents a specific installment in the numbered series that resumed publication under Gemstone after a hiatus.
When Huey, Dewey, and Louie set out to clean up the bay, they stumble upon a nighttime chemical spill — and soon find themselves in over their heads when they uncover the source. Meanwhile, Donald’s submarine tour takes a wild turn when he accidentally sends the sub hurtling into the deep, leaving the nephews stranded and in trouble. With the bay under threat and their own plans gone awry, the ducks must team up to stop the pollution before it’s too late.
When Mayor Pork vanishes just before the election, Mickey Mouse jumps in to run—only to face off against Pete, who’s backed by the scheming editor Muck Raker and a media machine working overtime to paint Mickey as unfit. With Minnie’s support and Goofy’s chaotic help, Mickey must prove he’s more than just a mouse with a dream, all while dodging sabotage from the most unscrupulous candidate in town.
Li'l Bad Wolf sets out to catch a rabbit for supper, but when his dad, the Big Bad Wolf, insists on a meaty meal, the clever pup devises a plan with the forest creatures. What starts as a simple hunt takes a turn when the Big Bad Wolf finds himself trapped—forced to trade his usual dinner for a bowl of vegetable soup.
