In 1820, Don Diego de la Vega returns to his family’s estate after years in Spain, summoned by his father, Don Alejandro, amid growing unrest under the tyrannical rule of Capitan Monastario. Determined to protect the innocent and stand against injustice, Don Diego adopts the daring guise of Zorro, the Fox, with his loyal servant Bernardo playing the part of a deaf and dumb man to gather secrets. Their first mission: free a wrongfully imprisoned landowner and begin a quiet war against oppression in the pueblo.

In "Zorro's Secret Passage," Don Diego de la Vega uses a hidden cavern accessed through a fireplace to shelter his horse, Tornado, while evading Capitan Monastario’s growing suspicion. With a bounty on Senor Nacho Torres and the Capitan targeting a look-alike vaquero named Avila to lure out Zorro, Diego must stay one step ahead—balancing secrecy, loyalty, and the ever-present danger of exposure.
