Walt Disney Daisy and Donald #20
In "The Hikers," Donald Ducks sets off on a rugged woodland trek to dodge Daisy’s planned lodge visit, hoping to keep his annual card game retreat free of her meddling. But when Clarabelle lets on to the ruse, Daisy flips the script—leading Donald on a grueling hike and then showing up at Hardscrabble Lodge as the lodge’s new waitress, leaving him thoroughly outmaneuvered. Written and illustrated by Bob Gregory, this 1976 Western Comics gem captures classic Disney chaos with a playful, clever twist, all rendered in Gregory’s signature style—complete with a cover by him that perfectly captures the mischievous spirit of the story.

Donald is set for his annual lodge visit to Hardscrabble Lodge, for a week of drinking and card playing, but first has to discourage Daisy from joining him. He tries to do this via a long hike in the woods, but Clarabelle clues Daisy in to the scam and they turn the tables. Donald is beat from the hike and Daisy further humiliates him by showing up as a waitress at the lodge.
