Later, he’s confronted by the mysterious "Katten," who offers him a place in the band—his voice masked behind a curtain, his intentions unclear—before the two prepare to rob the bank in Daytonville.

In the dusty frontier town of Daytonville, Kaptein Miki finds himself locked in a tense standoff with Crispino—"Katten"—and his gang inside the bank vault, the truth of the outlaw’s identity revealed through a lost flute. As Miki tries to clear his name by telling a young girl at the pensionat that he’s no bandit, his words are overheard by the very man he’s trying to outwit.

When "Katten" lures Windy and the young girl to the boarding house, Kaptein Miki must make a desperate choice to free them, surrendering himself to the outlaw's grasp. In a tense showdown, Miki is shot in the foot and collapses—but just as all seems lost, Windy returns in a moment of unexpected courage.
