When the son of Don Jose Gonzales is kidnapped by the notorious Maskefjes, Kaptein Miki sets out on a desperate journey to Carson City, where he’s soon joined by the enigmatic Oberst Wilson, a detective with his own agenda. As Miki and the mysterious Windy travel deeper into the frontier, their train is ambushed by masked riders—leaving only questions and danger in their wake.

Kaptein Miki and Windy cross paths after the train robbery, joining forces for a dangerous journey to Tahoesjøen. There, they meet Oberst Wilson, and together they cross the lake on a log—only to be confronted by Maskefjes, disguised as Salasso.

When Maskefjes, disguised as the real Salasso, tricks Windy and the impostor into a trap, the three are drugged and turned into statues—left frozen in place. Meanwhile, the true Salasso has arrived on the island, and the Indians now believe he’s the one in disguise, setting the stage for a dangerous misunderstanding.

In a dusty frontier town, Kaptein Miki and his allies face a twist of deception when Maskefjes, disguised as the legendary Salasso, stirs up trouble. With a show of cunning and danger—russian roulette and eerie illusions—Salasso (the real one) proves his identity, freeing the captives. But even as they celebrate, the threat returns, and Chito, don Joses’ son, becomes the new target.

In the dusty frontier of 1980’s Vill Vest #1, Kaptein Miki and his crew take in a runaway slave, Gabriel, fleeing the brutal grip of Fun-Li, the slavehandler. As they push toward the river town to expose the hidden trade, Windy’s loyalty is tested—and Maskefjes, the man known only as “som Windy,” steps into the shadows with a new purpose.
