Vermoord mijn moeder #[nn]
Jules Feiffer's Dutch-edition graphic novel "Vermoord mijn moeder" presents a wonderfully unsettling cover: a wiry, wide-eyed woman in a dark dress holds a small pink pistol, smoke curling from the barrel, her expression caught somewhere between anxiety and determination. Feiffer's loose, expressive linework — so instantly recognizable — gives the figure a nervous, kinetic energy that feels equally comedic and charged. Neil Gaiman's blurb on the cover ("een wervelend, grappig, hartverscheurend... verhaal") offers an enthusiastic endorsement for what this 2015 Scratch Books release clearly promises to be a sharp, emotionally layered work.
