Venom #162

Part 3 of the "Poison-X" crossover finds Venom front and center in the cold of deep space, fanged grin wide and fists ready, while an unlikely crew rallies around him — a cosmic surfer riding waves of energy, a figure trailing red-and-white light, a young hero in green and gold, and a hulking white-furred beast, all of them standing atop a heap of alien bodies beneath a skull-and-crossbones flag flying against a distant planet. It's a genuinely fun cosmic ensemble piece, and Will Robson's linework gives every character on that crowded cover a strong, distinct presence. Marvel Legacy banner or not, this 2018 issue makes a compelling case that Venom's adventures are best when the stakes stretch all the way to the stars.
